Staff accommodation/view from kitchen

During my stay I lived at Haydon House. It was an ideal place to meet other staff members. Sometimes we organized barbeques or late night pizza deliveries. Expenses were also an important reason to live on site, as it would have been very difficult to find an affordable flat in the area. My first lodging charge was about 73 pounds per month- bargain! Many young people from all over the UK and with different nationalities came together at Normansfield. That is what made it so special. I really enjoyed working with everybody. The Normansfield Football Club organized several matches at the back of the field. That was good fun to watch!

In June 1993 I left Normansfield to continue my training and returned to the Netherlands four years later. My present job can be compared to a community learning disability nurse, but the focus is on people with a broader range of disabilities.
